**Weather Forecast: Rain, Snow, and Winds May Affect Weekend and Pre-Thanksgiving Travel**

This weekend, weather conditions across the United States will present a mixed bag, particularly for those in the West and Northeast. While much of the nation will enjoy dry weather, regions like the West Coast and Northeast might encounter rainy, snowy, and windy situations.

In the West, rain showers are expected from California extending to the Pacific Northwest. Higher elevations in these areas, including the Rockies, might witness rain as well as mountain snow. Meanwhile, the Northeast will face the effects of a lingering low-pressure system, which will likely bring scattered rain and high-elevation snow, especially throughout interior areas and New England on Saturday. Additionally, gusty winds induced by this system could potentially cause some airport delays in the region.

As the new week begins, parts of the Great Lakes, South, and East might experience some nuisance rainfall due to a weak cold front and a jet stream disturbance. Snowfall associated with this system is expected to be confined to regions along the Canadian border.

Looking ahead to pre-Thanksgiving travel, AAA estimates that nearly 80 million people will be on the move this year. However, unsettled weather in both the West and East might disrupt some travel plans. The forecast beyond Wednesday remains highly uncertain, making it too early to furnish concrete details.
