### Michigan Wolverines Slide to No. 21 in US LBM Coaches Poll After Week 6 Defeat

Michigan football's recent inconsistencies came to a head in Week 6 when they faced a determined Washington team on the road. The Wolverines made another quarterback switch, substituting Alex Orji with a now-healthy Jack Tuttle, a seventh-year veteran who might have been the starter if not for earlier health issues. Despite the change, Michigan struggled with limited passing success and persistent turnover problems.

This setback coincided with other significant shifts in the college football landscape, such as USC's surprising loss to unranked Minnesota. Michigan’s own defeat to unranked Washington dropped their record to 4-2 and caused a significant drop in their standing. In the latest Week 6 US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA Today Sports, Michigan fell from No. 10 to No. 21.

Texas now holds the top spot in the poll, while USC has fallen out of the rankings entirely. Among Michigan's future opponents, Illinois is ranked No. 23, Indiana No. 20, Oregon No. 3, and Ohio State No. 2.

Other noteworthy rankings in the US LBM Coaches Poll include USC at No. 15, Louisville at No. 22, and UNLV at No. 23. The poll also lists Nebraska, Army West Point, Navy, Colorado, Kentucky, Arizona, Texas Tech, Virginia, Washington, Liberty, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Arkansas, Tulane, Louisville, Iowa, Syracuse, and Arizona State as receiving votes.

Michigan’s upcoming games will be critical as they aim to regain their footing in both the poll and the season standings.
