The ticket successfully matched five winning numbers in the drawing held on Saturday, March 16, but missed the Powerball number, as reported by the national Powerball site.

Unfortunately, there were no winners for the grand prize in this drawing, causing the jackpot to rise even further to an estimated $645 million. The cash value of the jackpot is approximately $307 million for the upcoming drawing scheduled on Monday, March 18.

The winning numbers for the particular drawing were 12, 23, 44, 57, and 61, with the Powerball number being 5. Interestingly, the winning ticket in Michigan was sold online, as revealed by the Michigan Lottery.

In addition to the million-dollar Michigan winner, nearly 50,000 other tickets in the state secured prizes ranging from $4 to $50,000.

It's worth noting that tickets sold in New Jersey and South Carolina matched five numbers but not the Powerball number.

To win the Powerball jackpot, a player must successfully match all five white balls as well as the red Powerball. With odds of 1 in 292,201,338, hitting the jackpot remains a significant challenge.

Powerball tickets are priced at $2 and can be purchased on the day of the drawing, although sales times vary depending on the state. Drawings are broadcasted on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays at 10:59 p.m. ET and can also be streamed online.

Powerball is currently played in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
