5 Million in Personal Bank Account

Following the untimely passing of beloved actor Matthew Perry, new details have emerged regarding his estate and finances. According to an inventory and appraisal document filed by trustee Lisa Ferguson, it has been revealed that Perry had approximately $1,596,914.47 in his personal bank account at the time of his death.

While this amount may not seem substantial for a Hollywood star, it is important to note that the filing does not include other potential assets that were likely part of Perry's estate. As previously reported, Perry's will indicated that a majority of his belongings were placed in a trust named the "Alvy Singer Living Trust," presumably named after Woody Allen's character in Annie Hall. The specific assets within the trust have not been disclosed.

Perry's will also named his father John Perry and his mother Suzanne Morrison as trust beneficiaries, along with his half-sister Caitlin Morrison and his ex-girlfriend Rachel Dunn. Notably, the document stated that any children Perry might have had would not be entitled to his estate, as the actor did not have any children.

In addition to the funds in his personal bank account, the filing reveals that Perry possessed over $1 million worth of personal property. This includes assets such as properties, vehicles, and other valuable possessions.

Matthew Perry gained immense success as one of the main cast members of the hit television show Friends. By the show's ninth season, Perry and his co-stars were reportedly earning $1 million per episode. According to a USA Today report from 2021, Warner Bros earned a staggering $1 billion per year from syndication revenue, with the cast members receiving two percent, amounting to an annual income of $20 million each from reruns alone.

On October 28, Perry tragically passed away at his home in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Fire Department discovered his lifeless body after responding to a medical emergency call at 4:07 p.m.

An autopsy report later determined Perry's cause of death to be accidental and attributed to the acute effects of ketamine. Contributing factors included drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid use disorder.

Reflecting on Perry's passing, his step-father Keith Morrison shared the ongoing grief experienced by the family. He spoke about the constant impact of the loss and expressed how it particularly affected Perry's mother. Morrison also highlighted that Perry had found happiness prior to his death, which provides some comfort amidst the tragedy. However, he lamented the fact that Perry didn't have the opportunity to enjoy his "third act."

As more information about Matthew Perry's estate and final moments surfaces, fans and loved ones continue to mourn the loss of the talented actor whose unforgettable portrayal of Chandler Bing in Friends touched the hearts of millions.
