### "Deadpool & Wolverine" Eyes Awards Season Glory Following Box Office Success

Marvel Studios' latest hit, "Deadpool & Wolverine," is setting its sights not only on dominating the box office but also on making a significant impact during this year's awards season. Disney, eager to replicate the accolades of the 2016 original, is pushing the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-led multiverse extravaganza for consideration by major awards bodies.

Shawn Levy's summer blockbuster, which has already grossed over $1 billion globally, is vying for spots in the Golden Globe comedy categories. Reynolds, reprising his role as Wade Wilson (Deadpool), is in contention for the Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical category. Meanwhile, Jackman's much-anticipated return as Logan (Wolverine) is being submitted for supporting actor categories across prestigious awards shows, including the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice, and Oscars.

The film is nearly guaranteed a placement in the Golden Globes' new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category, which celebrates high-grossing and critically acclaimed films. This category was introduced last year and requires movies to earn at least $150 million worldwide with $100 million from the U.S. market or achieve significant digital streaming numbers.

In the Oscar race, "Deadpool & Wolverine" aims for nominations in several technical categories such as production design, sound, and visual effects. The original "Deadpool," directed by Tim Miller, garnered critical acclaim and amassed over $780 million worldwide. It also received two Golden Globe nominations and recognition from industry guilds, setting a high bar for its successor.

Reynolds, a two-time Emmy winner for "Welcome to Wrexham," not only stars in the film but also serves as a producer alongside Levy, Kevin Feige, and Lauren Shuler Donner. The screenplay was co-written by Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells. Levy and Feige both bring previous Oscar nominations to the table, with Levy's nod coming for "Arrival" and Feige's for "Black Panther."

Jackman, renowned for his roles across various genres and award-winning performances, adds substantial gravitas to the film's awards campaign. His accolades include a Tony Award, an Emmy, a Golden Globe win, an Oscar nomination, and a Grammy for "The Greatest Showman" soundtrack.

Boasting an impressive ensemble cast featuring Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Aaron Stanford, and Matthew Macfadyen, the film also includes surprise appearances from stars like Chris Evans, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Garner, and Channing Tatum.

"Deadpool & Wolverine" will be available on digital platforms, including Prime Video and Apple TV+, starting October 1, with 4K Blu-ray and DVD versions releasing on October 22.
