Logan Sargeant, an American driver, was unable to participate in the Dutch Grand Prix qualifying session following a dramatic accident during practice. The incident occurred at Zandvoort circuit, which was experiencing wet conditions at the time.

Sargeant's car clipped the grass at Turn 4, causing him to lose control and spin across the track. The car eventually collided with the armco barrier, resulting in extensive damage and a fire breaking out at the rear of the vehicle. Despite the severity of the crash, Sargeant managed to climb out of the wreck unharmed.

Due to the significant impact, the 60-minute qualifying session was interrupted, with nearly 40 minutes being red-flagged to allow for barrier repairs. Only a mere three minutes of running was possible before the session was brought to a halt.

Pierre Gasly emerged as the fastest driver during the limited running that took place. Meanwhile, the Williams team made valiant efforts to repair Sargeant's car, but unfortunately, they were unable to do so. Consequently, Sargeant now needs to seek permission from the stewards to participate in the race.

Thankfully for Sargeant, as he managed to complete a lap-time within 107% of the pace, the stewards will grant him permission to race. However, considering the extent of damage to his car, it is likely that he will have to start the race from the pit-lane due to the need for a replacement chassis.

The fiery crash and subsequent disruption have added an unexpected twist to the Dutch Grand Prix qualifying session, leaving both the drivers and fans eagerly anticipating how Sargeant will fare in the upcoming race.
