In a surprising turn of events, leaked CAD renders have unveiled the much-anticipated Apple Watch X, showcasing a groundbreaking 2-inch display, the largest ever seen on an Apple Watch. The leaked images, shared by reliable source 91mobiles, have a history of accurately predicting future Apple product details, making this revelation highly intriguing for tech enthusiasts.
Compared to its predecessors, including the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which boasts a 1.93-inch display, the Apple Watch X's expansive screen takes center stage. However, despite the increased display size, the leaked renders suggest that the watch's overall chassis size will fall between the Series 9 and the Ultra, with approximate measurements of 46 x 39.7 x 11.6mm.
Whilst the leaked CAD renders showcase similar features to the previous generation, such as the Digital Crown and side button, they do not provide any evidence of the rumored new magnetic band mechanism. This feature, speculated by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, was anticipated to create more space internally for additional functionalities. Whether this omission signifies the exclusion of the magnetic mechanism remains uncertain at this point.
Interestingly, there may be multiple size options for the Apple Watch X, as it has been reported that it will be available in both 45mm and 49mm casings, much like the Apple Watch Ultra. If this holds true, it is possible that a smaller version of the leaked CAD renders exists, waiting to be discovered in a warehouse in the near future.
If the leaked CAD renders do, in fact, represent the upcoming Apple Watch X, users can anticipate not only a significant increase in display size but also an enhanced battery life. The larger chassis allows for more power, potentially rivaling the impressive battery performance of the Apple Watch Ultra.
The Apple Watch X is expected to follow the tradition set by the iPhone X, celebrating the product's 10th anniversary with a substantial redesign. Tech enthusiasts eagerly await the official unveiling of the Apple Watch X, which is anticipated to take place in September 2024, alongside the highly anticipated releases of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.
