**Raiders Still Undecided on Starting Quarterback for Week 6**
In the wake of their recent defeat to the Denver Broncos, the Las Vegas Raiders are contemplating a change at quarterback. Head coach Antonio Pierce did not confirm any immediate decisions regarding the starting position during his Monday press conference. After Gardner Minshew was benched in favor of Aidan O'Connell late in the third quarter of Sunday's game, Pierce emphasized that the team is still in the process of evaluating its options for the upcoming Week 6 match against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Minshew's performance against the Broncos saw him complete 12 out of 17 passes for 137 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions. One of those interceptions was particularly damaging, as it was returned 100 yards by Pat Surtain for a touchdown. Addressing this critical play, Pierce acknowledged its likely impact on Minshew’s morale.
"I think everybody understood and saw that," Pierce remarked. "But, you know, he went back out there and I thought there were some opportunities for us to make plays. At that point, we just didn't. Offensively, we kind of hit the mud."
Despite the possibility of switching to O'Connell, Pierce did not commit to him as the starter for the rest of the season. However, the head coach conveyed a certain level of confidence in the second-year quarterback’s abilities.
"That back foot hits the ground, the ball comes out," Pierce said, noting O'Connell's quick release and understanding of the game. "Aiden understands, is a cerebral player, knows where the ball needs to go. So, I've seen enough of Aiden and a lot this year - I know what to expect when Aiden gets in the game."
As the Raiders continue their evaluation, all eyes remain on who will lead the team under center against Pittsburgh.
