### LAFC to Face Club América in Crucial FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Play-In Match

In a highly anticipated showdown, LAFC will host Club América on May 31 at BMO Stadium for a chance to secure a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. The match, set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT, will determine which team advances to the prestigious global tournament, taking the place of Club León in Group D.

LAFC members have the opportunity to purchase tickets through a pre-sale starting today, May 16. General ticket sales will begin on May 17. Fans eager to attend can find more information on the LAFC website or contact the club directly.

The play-in match will be broadcast live for free on DAZN.com, with further sublicensing details to be announced. This decisive game follows recent decisions by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which led FIFA to organize the play-in between LAFC, the 2023 Concacaf Champions League runners-up, and Club América, the top-ranked team in the FIFA Club World Cup confederation ranking.

Should the match end in a tie after 90 minutes, extra time and potentially a penalty shoot-out will determine the winner. The victorious team will join Brazil's CR Flamengo, Tunisian club Espérance Sportive de Tunisie, and English side Chelsea FC in Group D.

Group-stage matches for the winners will take place in Atlanta, Nashville, and Orlando on June 16, 20, and 24, respectively. Overall, the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 promises to be the largest and most inclusive global club competition ever, featuring 32 elite teams from all six confederations.

The tournament will commence on June 14 at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium, with 63 matches scheduled across 11 U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Miami, and New York New Jersey, culminating in the final at MetLife Stadium on July 13.

LAFC enters this decisive match with a positive record against Club América, having won their last official encounter in the 2020 Concacaf Champions Cup semifinal. They also secured a 2-1 victory in a pre-season match earlier this year. Both clubs drew 0-0 in a friendly last year at the Leagues Cup Showcase.

All eyes will be on BMO Stadium as these two formidable teams compete for a coveted spot in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
