**Kenny Pickett Takes Shot at Steelers After Joining Browns**

Kenny Pickett's NFL journey has taken a series of dramatic turns since the Pittsburgh Steelers selected him in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, eyeing him as the successor to Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers initially started the season with Mitch Trubisky, but by Week 4, they turned to Pickett, a University of Pittsburgh alum, during a game against the New York Jets.

Despite a 14-10 record with Pickett as the starting quarterback, the Steelers' offense struggled to find its rhythm. Ironically, the most success came when Pickett was sidelined with an injury and Mason Rudolph stepped in, leading the team to score 30 points in back-to-back regular-season games for the first time since 2020. This sequence of events, coupled with Pickett's reported refusal to suit up as a backup to Rudolph in a game against Seattle, culminated in Pickett's trade after the Steelers signed Russell Wilson last March.

During his 2024 season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Pickett served as the backup to Jalen Hurts, experiencing the highs of a Super Bowl victory. In March, the Cleveland Browns acquired Pickett, bringing him back to the AFC North. Speaking at the Browns Organized Team Activities (OTAs), Pickett made what appeared to be a pointed remark towards his former team in Pittsburgh.

"I’m extremely grateful for my time in Philly," Pickett said. "I think I was shown how it's supposed to be done, really from the top down. When you get a chance to see what it’s supposed to look like and how it should look, on a day-to-day basis, not just on Sundays, I think that'll pay dividends."

These comments have ignited speculation and intrigue ahead of a potential return to Pittsburgh in a Browns uniform. Should Pickett secure the starting position in Cleveland, his matchup against the Steelers will undoubtedly become a significant talking point and a must-watch event, bringing additional drama to an already storied rivalry.
