Kanye West, now known as Ye, finds himself further embroiled in legal issues as allegations from a former assistant surface. Lauren Pisciotta, who worked for Ye from 2021 to 2022, has accused the rapper of drugging and sexually assaulting her during a studio session co-hosted by the hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs. The claims arise from an amended complaint in her ongoing wrongful termination lawsuit against West.
Pisciotta alleges that Ye, her former employer, committed "sexual battery" by giving her a drink laced with drugs. She also stated that she was subjected to explicit texts, pornographic photos, and inappropriate phone calls from Ye before being dismissed from her position. Pisciotta has not filed any charges against Combs in the revised complaint.
A legal representative for Ye did not respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for comments regarding the new allegations. Previously, West's legal team had dismissed Pisciotta's wrongful termination claims as "baseless," suggesting that she had pursued West for employment and material benefits and resorted to blackmail and extortion when he rebuffed her advances.
This case adds to a string of legal challenges faced by West. Earlier this year, a former employee of his Donda Academy and Yeezy fashion brand, Trevor Phillips, filed a lawsuit accusing Ye of racism, homophobia, antisemitism, sexual harassment, and various forms of mistreatment towards both students and staff. Phillips claimed he was repeatedly abused and humiliated by West in front of other employees and was denied termination or severance pay following the closure of Donda Academy.
Meanwhile, Sean "Diddy" Combs faces severe legal battles of his own. Currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, he has been denied bail after pleading not guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. These charges come in addition to sexual assault lawsuits from 120 individuals, represented by attorney Tony Buzbee.
Erica Wolff, Combs' attorney, has categorically denied the allegations against him. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, she emphasized Combs' innocence, stating that he looks forward to proving his case in court where the truth, rather than speculation, will be established. Wolff criticized the media frenzy surrounding the allegations, calling it a "reckless media circus."
As both West and Combs navigate their respective legal troubles, the spotlight remains firmly on the allegations, with each side preparing for what promises to be closely watched legal battles.
