Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has revealed that he was almost brought to tears by an "incredible thing" done by his players during a recent BBQ gathering. As Klopp prepares to bid farewell to Anfield after nine years at the club, he shared his emotions and reflected on the intense week leading up to his final game against Wolves on Sunday.

The week leading up to Klopp's departure has been filled with heartfelt moments and expressions of gratitude from players and staff. This Thursday, a BBQ was organized at Liverpool's AXA Training Centre, where players had an opportunity to pay their own tributes to Klopp and the departing coaching staff members.

Klopp, known for his emotional nature, admitted that the kind words spoken by his players had a profound impact on him. In particular, he praised his captain, Virgil van Dijk, for his incredible tribute. The Liverpool boss recounted, "On Thursday, the players did an incredibly nice thing speaking about me and other members of staff who are leaving, Virgil did incredible. I only had to make a joke here and there. If I had started to say what I think, I would have been gone (emotionally). I knew it."

Van Dijk, who was signed by Klopp from Southampton and later became the team's captain, had previously expressed his gratitude towards the manager. He acknowledged the significant role Klopp played in his career, stating, "He got me to Liverpool, and that is one of the biggest things of my career. I am forever grateful for that opportunity. He obviously helped me and made me the player I am today. I am always grateful for him for helping me on that difficult journey."

As Klopp prepares to say goodbye to Anfield in what is expected to be an emotional occasion, fans and players alike are eager to show their appreciation for his tremendous contributions. The German manager announced in January that this would be his final game with Liverpool, providing fans and players ample time to come to terms with his departure. However, the intensity of the week leading up to his final game has surpassed even Klopp's expectations.

Liverpool supporters will have the opportunity to bid farewell to Klopp during Sunday's match against Wolves, an occasion that promises to be filled with heartfelt farewells and gratitude for the legacy he leaves behind.
