In an exciting update, it has been confirmed that Oscar nominee Josh Brolin has been added to the star-studded cast of Rian Johnson's upcoming film, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The talented actor's role in the highly anticipated threequel is yet to be disclosed.

Brolin will be joining the returning lead, Daniel Craig, who will reprise his role as the renowned Southern detective Benoit Blanc. The cast also includes an impressive lineup of talent, including Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, and Daryl McCormack, as previously announced.

The Knives Out franchise offers a contemporary revival of the classic murder mystery genre, with Craig's character investigating intriguing cases. The series had its successful beginnings with the release of Johnson's whodunit film in 2019, which featured an ensemble cast including Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Christopher Plummer, among others. The film garnered critical acclaim and grossed over $310 million worldwide, even landing an Oscar nomination for its screenplay.

Following the success of the first film, Netflix secured the rights to produce two sequels for an astounding $450 million. The first sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, was released in 2022.

Directed by Rian Johnson himself, Wake Up Dead Man will captivate audiences with its suspenseful storyline, brought to life by Johnson's signature style. The film is being produced by Johnson and Ram Bergman for T-Street.

Josh Brolin has recently made waves with his role as Gurney Halleck in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two, which received rave reviews and earned a staggering $711 million at the global box office. Currently, viewers can catch Brolin in the second season of Prime Video's Outer Range, which premiered last month.

Fans will be eagerly awaiting Brolin's appearances in the action comedy Brothers, set to be released by Amazon MGM Studios, as well as New Line's highly anticipated horror thriller Weapons, helmed by Zach Cregger.

The Hollywood Reporter was the first to break the news of Josh Brolin's casting in the Knives Out threequel, adding even more excitement to the already star-studded ensemble.

With an impressive cast and a gripping plot, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is poised to be another thrilling installment in the popular franchise. Fans can keep their eyes peeled for further updates as production continues.
