**Jon Jones Overcomes Alex Pereira in UFC Pound-for-Pound Rankings, Sparks Controversy**

After his recent stunning victory over heavyweight icon Stipe Miocic, Jon Jones has made a notable leap in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings, surpassing Alex Pereira. Jones' third-round finish showcased his prowess, particularly with a spinning back kick to Miocic's body, securing his second heavyweight victory and further affirming his reputation as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history.

Despite this impressive feat, Jones remains behind lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in the rankings. This standing has drawn the ire of UFC President Dana White, who has long argued that Jones' achievements warrant a higher rank. White points to Jones' extensive record, including wins over formidable opponents like Daniel Cormier and Vitor Belfort within the light heavyweight division, as a testament to his exceptional career.

In contrast, Makhachev has also built a commendable resume, defeating top-tier fighters such as Dustin Poirier, Alexander Volkanovski, and Charles Oliveira in recent bouts. Nevertheless, White believes Jones' comprehensive body of work merits the top spot in the pound-for-pound rankings, even though Makhachev has recently faced highly skilled adversaries.

White's dissatisfaction extends to the light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira as well, who holds a strong case for high ranking. Frustrated with the current panel of media members responsible for the rankings, White has publicly expressed his discontent. He voiced his criticism on Instagram, declaring his intent to revamp the system: "I have to get rid of these CLOWNS!"

In response to the contentious nature of the rankings, White is reportedly accelerating discussions with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. By potentially integrating an AI system devised with Zuckerberg's expertise, White aims to eliminate human error and subjectivity from the rankings. However, even with advanced technology, the debates among fight fans regarding fighter rankings are expected to persist.
