" The Emmy-winning actor, who has gained critical acclaim for his previous performances, will depict the legendary rock icon during the pivotal period of his career encapsulated in the creation of the 1982 album "Nebraska."
In a recently released image from 20th Century Studios, White is nearly indistinguishable as he embraces the rockstar persona of Springsteen. Sporting a red and blue flannel shirt underneath a dark blue jacket, White's usually blonde hair is dyed dark brown, capturing the artist's distinctive look. His intense gaze, aligned with his hands casually tucked into his pockets, adds to the authenticity of the portrayal.
Directed by Scott Cooper, "Deliver Me from Nowhere" is based on Warren Zanes' 2023 book, which delves into the behind-the-scenes making of Springsteen's seminal album. The book, "Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska," offers an in-depth account of the album's creation, enriched by commentary from Springsteen himself.
"Bruce Springsteen's 'Nebraska' has profoundly shaped my artistic vision," Cooper stated. "The album's raw, unvarnished portrayal of life's trials and resilience resonates deeply with me. Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanes' compelling narrative of Bruce's life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honoring Bruce's legacy in a transformative cinematic experience."
Springsteen's "Nebraska," an album characterized by its haunting acoustic sound, was recorded on a 4-track recorder in his bedroom. Following up on his Grammy-nominated album "The River," this 10-track LP, which includes notable songs like "Atlantic City," "Open All Night," and "My Father's House," sold 1 million copies and stands as one of his most enduring works.
With the collaboration of Jeremy Allen White, Scott Cooper, and Warren Zanes, "Deliver Me from Nowhere" is poised to offer fans and newcomers alike a resonant and authentic glance into the poetic and resilient essence of Springsteen’s artistry.
