### Jennifer Lopez's Sister Bonds with Step-Niece at Yale Amid Divorce Proceedings
Amid the ongoing divorce of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, family ties remain strong. Jennifer Lopez's sister, Lynda Lopez, recently visited Yale University to spend time with her step-niece, Violet Affleck. The 53-year-old journalist posted a heartwarming photo on Instagram capturing the two of them smiling as they strolled through the prestigious campus, captioning the image, "New Haven with my favorite Yalie!"
This family gathering came just three months after Jennifer Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Ben Affleck. The couple had celebrated their marriage in a grand ceremony in Georgia two years prior. The filing, citing irreconcilable differences, noted their separation date as April 26. Despite the impending split, both Lopez and Affleck seem to be maintaining a civil relationship for the sake of their children.
Ben Affleck, known for his role as Batman, shares three children with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18; Seraphina, 15; and Samuel, 12. Jennifer Lopez has 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony. In a family outing this September, Lopez and Affleck were seen having lunch at the Polo Lounge with their children, though Violet was absent. The five kids have remained close, enjoying activities together such as shopping, vacations, and amusement park visits ever since their parents rekindled their romance in 2021.
According to Page Six, the couple's children have adjusted well to the news of the divorce. A source shared, "His kids are taking it fine as are hers. Everybody is ready to move on." Jennifer Lopez herself has expressed positive sentiments about being single again. In a recent interview, she revealed her excitement about this new chapter in her life, emphasizing her desire to explore her independence.
Though she acknowledged that being single can sometimes be "lonely" and "scary," Lopez stressed that she does not let relationship status define her. She confidently stated, "When you sit in those feelings and go, 'These things are not going to kill me,' it's like, 'Actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself.'"
