Richard Goodall, known to many as the "singing janitor," has won the latest season of "America's Got Talent" after a powerful rendition of Journey's classic hit, "Don't Stop Believin'." The win signifies not just a personal triumph but a remarkable achievement that culminated with the band Journey joining him on stage for his final performance.

Goodall, speaking to Fox News Digital, expressed his astonishment and joy. "There's bucket list and then there's bucket list on top of the shelf that you never dreamed were there," he said, expressing the surreal nature of his victory. In recent times, alongside his triumphant win, Goodall has enjoyed other significant life events, including marrying his "absolute amazing" wife and claiming the show's million-dollar cash prize.

Humility and gratitude colored Goodall's reflections on the journey. With "no expectations" during the auditions and final rounds, he focused on giving his best performance every time. Holding the "America's Got Talent" winner’s card aloft, he revealed future plans that include returning to his janitorial duties at the school where he works. Judge Heidi Klum, who had pressed the Golden Buzzer for him early in the season, anticipated a grand homecoming for Goodall at his school.

Klum's early bet on Goodall as a Golden Buzzer contestant proved well-founded. "We won, we won!" she exclaimed, delighted that the audience echoed her belief in the talented janitor. "You push the Golden Buzzer for someone that you believe in... I believed in him. I fell in love with him immediately," she shared, showcasing her support and admiration.

Fellow judge Howie Mandel also praised Goodall's win, affirming the decision made by America's voters. "America never gets it wrong. They got it right," Mandel asserted. Highlighting the transformative nature of Goodall's journey on the show, he added, "It is life changing... Now he's on stage on the biggest television show, the biggest stage in the world, playing with Journey. Not only does he feel great, but it makes you watching feel great."

Goodall's inspiring story began with students at his school recognizing his talent, which motivated him to audition for "America's Got Talent." Their encouragement set him on a path that has now led to national recognition and a once-in-a-lifetime experience performing with rock legends.
