**Jaguars Face High Stakes Against Lions, Coaching and Management Jobs on the Line**

The Jacksonville Jaguars are gearing up for a high-stakes matchup against the Detroit Lions this Sunday, a game that could determine the future of head coach Doug Pederson and general manager Trent Baalke. Despite their quarterback Trevor Lawrence's absence, the Jaguars must confront the NFC's top team with an imposing 8-1 record, in hopes of saving the leadership from potential upheaval.

Reports from NFL.com suggest that Jacksonville's management is considering a "dramatic move" depending on the outcome of the game at Ford Field. The Jaguars currently hold a dismal 2-8 record and are entering their bye week in Week 12, intensifying the urgency for a turnaround. Since amassing an 8-3 record last year, the Jaguars have seen a drastic decline, achieving just three wins in their last 15 games, which has cast them out of the playoff race both last season and likely this year as well.

Trevor Lawrence, who has struggled with form this season, totaling only 2,004 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and six interceptions before a shoulder injury sidelined him, will not be playing. The team will instead start Mac Jones, who played during their narrow 12-7 loss to the Vikings last week.

Coach Pederson, despite his past success leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl win and joining the Jaguars in 2022, has been unable to halt Jacksonville's downward spiral. In August, team owner Shad Khan expressed high expectations, stating, "Make no mistake, this is the best team assembled by the Jacksonville Jaguars, ever. Best players, best coaches. But most importantly, let's prove it by winning now."

The sharp decline in performance has placed Pederson and Baalke under intense scrutiny. Baalke assumed the general manager role in the middle of the 2020 season after David Caldwell's departure. The sense of urgency is palpable within the organization, with NFL.com noting a somber mood and impending major changes.

If the Jaguars fail to deliver an upset against the Lions, it could mark the beginning of significant organizational restructuring. This scenario is reminiscent of the drastic in-season coaching change three years ago when Urban Meyer was fired. Following their bye week, the Jaguars are scheduled to host the Texans on Dec. 1 before traveling to face the Titans.
