The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to explore the versatility of Travis Hunter, alternating him between wide receiver and cornerback during their Organized Team Activities (OTAs). While head coach Liam Coen frequently places Hunter on offense, it's evident that the defensive side of the ball is eager to utilize his talents more frequently.
Hunter has not been straddling both roles in a single day, but his presence has been predominantly on the offensive side during this phase of the program. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by the coaching staff, especially secondary coach Ron Milus, who recently approached Coen with a direct request, "Can we have him more?"
Despite spending a majority of his time on offense, Hunter has quickly adapted to his defensive responsibilities. Coen remarked on how naturally Hunter fits into the secondary, stating, "You can definitely see how natural it is for him, still learning, still growing, still trying to learn the calls as much as possible." Coen continued, "But when you see him just in the actual seven on and team setting, he doesn't look out of place by any means."
Hunter's performance on the offensive side has also garnered positive attention, signaling his potential to thrive in dual roles as the season progresses. As the Jaguars' OTAs continue, there is growing anticipation to see if Hunter can sustain his impressive form across both positions well into the regular season.
