**Trevor Lawrence's Shoulder Injury Casts Doubt on Jaguars' Season**

Jacksonville's worries deepen as star quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffers an injury to his non-throwing shoulder. Reports from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport indicate Lawrence's participation in the upcoming Sunday game against the Minnesota Vikings is highly unlikely. The news follows Lawrence's Week 9 injury, adding to the Jaguars' growing list of challenges.

Rapoport revealed that Lawrence is receiving treatment and considering multiple future options. The possibility of surgery remains on the table, though no decision has been made yet. Amidst the Jaguars’ difficult 2-7 run this season, opting for surgery could be a strategic move if Lawrence decides not to continue playing through less significant games.

Historically, Lawrence has demonstrated resilience, playing through various injuries last season, including a knee issue in Week 6, a high-ankle sprain in Week 14, and a concussion in Week 15. Despite these setbacks, he missed only one game. However, the serious consideration of surgery this time around indicates the potential severity of his current shoulder injury sustained against the Eagles.

In response to Lawrence’s condition, the Jaguars have signed quarterback C.J. Beathard. Previously Lawrence's backup from 2021 to 2023, Beathard was briefly part of the Miami Dolphins' practice squad before rejoining the Jaguars' 53-man roster. Head coach Doug Pederson acknowledged that this move provides much-needed insurance for the team.

Beathard is set to support second-string quarterback Mac Jones when the Jaguars face the Vikings on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, aiming to stabilize the team amid ongoing uncertainties regarding Lawrence's future on the field.
