In a significant development in the search for missing eight-month-old Miya Rudd, Kentucky State Police detectives have discovered an infant's body consistent with Miya at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. The troopers made the grim find inside Miya's family home, where the decomposed remains were concealed.

The search for baby Miya had intensified in recent days, with officials utilizing specialized equipment and teams of cadaver dogs in Ohio County. Earlier this week, authorities were seen scouring the same area where the heartbreaking discovery was made. The investigation saw eight individuals arrested, including Miya's parents, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd, as well as four of her grandparents.

Among the charges leveled against Miya's parents and one of her grandfathers, Ricky Smith, are child abuse and abandonment of a minor. It was revealed that Miya was born with methamphetamine in her system, and the initial plan was to place her with her siblings. However, she had not been seen for over a month, leading to the grave concerns and subsequent search efforts.

The somber discovery prompted the arrival of a coroner van at the scene in Reynolds Station, near Miya's family home, at approximately 2 p.m. As authorities continue to piece together the details surrounding Miya's disappearance and her tragic fate, Trooper Cory King shared insights into the ongoing search earlier on Friday.

The community has been left shaken by the shocking turn of events in the search for little Miya Rudd. The investigation and subsequent arrests reflect the severity of the situation, with charges related to drugs and warrants on top of the child abuse and abandonment charges.

As the investigation progresses, details surrounding Miya's disappearance and the circumstances leading to her tragic demise are slowly being unveiled. The discovery of her concealed remains within her own home has cast a somber cloud over the community, urging authorities to seek justice for this innocent life that was cut short far too soon.
