### I, Robot Director Accuses Elon Musk of Plagiarism in Tesla Designs
In a surprising allegation, Alex Proyas, the director of the 2004 science fiction film I, Robot, has accused Elon Musk of appropriating his film's concepts for Tesla products. The claim comes shortly after Tesla's unveiling of the Cybercab, a self-driving robotic taxi.
Proyas took to X/Twitter, where he shared side-by-side images comparing the newly introduced Cybercab with the futuristic vehicles featured in I, Robot. He captioned the post, "Hey Elon, can I have my designs back please?" which rapidly gained attention across social media platforms.
Beyond the Cybercab, Proyas pointed out other instances of what he believes to be lifted designs. He posted images juxtaposing the Tesla Optimus robot with similar robots from his film, as well as the Tesla robovan next to a comparable vehicle design seen in I, Robot.
I, Robot, which premiered in 2004, stars Will Smith as Detective Del Spooner, a character who delves into a murder mystery involving a robotic police force in a futuristic 2035 Chicago. The movie features advanced technologies and robotic designs that now, according to Proyas, appear to be echoed in Tesla's latest products.
As of now, neither Elon Musk nor Tesla have offered any response to these allegations. IGN has reached out to Tesla seeking comments, but there has been no official statement from the company.
