In an impressive display of skill and dominance, high school wrestler Jax Forrest emerged as the victor in the Last Chance Olympic Team Trials Qualifier, defeating NCAA champion Nathan Tomasello. Ranked as the #6 pound-for-pound high school wrestler in the country, Forrest showcased why he is one of the most coveted recruits nationwide.

The tournament finals witnessed a remarkable showdown between Forrest and Tomasello, as the high school sophomore from Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, executed a flawless performance. With remarkable speed and precision, Forrest achieved a tech fall victory over Tomasello, scoring 10-0 in just one minute and 18 seconds.

This resounding win secured Forrest's qualification for the 2024 Olympic Team Trials scheduled to be held in State College, PA on April 19-20. With a series of remarkable victories throughout the tournament, Forrest demonstrated his prowess on the mat, consistently racking up double-digit points against his opponents.

In the initial match of the tournament, Forrest defeated Penn State's Gary Steen with a score of 12-2. Moving on to the quarterfinals, he effortlessly cruised past Devan Turner, a four-time qualifier and one-time All-American, with a dominant 10-0 scoreline. In the semi-finals, Forrest continued his winning streak by defeating Josh Rodriguez, a three-time NCAA qualifier and current NLWC team member, with an impressive 13-4 victory.

While Forrest's performance was remarkable, he was not the only high schooler making waves at the Last Chance Qualifier. Several other wrestlers, including Bo Basset, Aden Valencia, and Cole Mirasola, who are yet to graduate high school, achieved top-four finishes in the competition held in Fairfax, Virginia.

With his incredible skills displayed at such a young age, Jax Forrest has undoubtedly become a rising star in the wrestling world.
