In a retaliatory move, Hezbollah has launched dozens of rockets at Kiryat Shmona, an Israeli border town. This attack comes as a response to Israeli strikes on Lebanon's southern village of al-Habbariyeh, which resulted in the death of seven individuals.

The ongoing conflict between the Iranian-aligned Hezbollah and the Israeli military has seen near-daily exchanges of fire across the border since October, coinciding with the start of the current conflict in Gaza. On Wednesday, approximately 30 rockets were fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel, according to the Israeli military, resulting in the tragic death of a 25-year-old factory worker in Kiryat Shmona.

The Israeli strikes targeted a paramedic center in al-Habbariyeh, which was linked to a Lebanese Sunni Muslim group. The victims, who were all volunteers, included young men in their early 20s, as reported by Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr from al-Habbariyeh. The attacks resulted in the complete destruction of the emergency health center, leaving the local community shocked and devastated.

While the Israeli army claimed to have targeted a significant operative, local sources disputed these claims, stating that the attack was aimed at a civilian target. Hezbollah has vowed to avenge the attack, declaring that it "will not pass without punishment."

The Ministry of Health in Lebanon has strongly condemned the Israeli air strike, asserting that such attacks violate international laws and norms, including the Geneva Convention, which emphasizes the neutrality of health centers and health workers. This incident is not an isolated one, as there have been previous instances where health centers have been targeted in border confrontations, resulting in the loss of lives of paramedics.

According to reports, the Israeli military targeted "a military building" and claimed to have killed a member of the al-Jamaa al-Islamiya, a Lebanese political and armed outfit. The military further stated that the target had been involved in plotting against Israeli territories and was successfully eliminated, along with other individuals present in the building.

Local residents in border villages have expressed concerns over Israel's alleged strategy to depopulate these areas, creating a buffer zone that makes it increasingly difficult for civilians to reside there. The impact of these actions is evident, with approximately 100,000 people already forced to leave their homes. There is growing apprehension that this particular village will face further attacks.

Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, previously warned that Israel would pay a price "in blood" for killing Lebanese civilians. As tensions escalate along the Lebanon-Israel border, the conflict shows no signs of easing, raising fears of a further intensification.

The ongoing violence between Hezbollah and the Israeli military continues to take a toll, with innocent lives lost and communities in constant fear. The international community remains concerned about the violation of humanitarian laws and the potential for greater escalation in the region.
