In a highly anticipated matchup, heavyweight fighters Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder are gearing up to face each other in the ring at the Frank Warren-Eddie Hearn 5 vs. 5 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Weigh-ins took place on Friday, revealing a significant weight difference between the two contenders.

China's Zhang tipped the scales at a commanding 282.8 pounds, outweighing Alabama's Wilder by an astounding 68.2 pounds. With the fight being held in Riyadh, both boxers are aiming to redeem themselves after suffering upset decision losses to Joseph Parker in previous bouts held in the same location.

Wilder, the former heavyweight champion, faced a crushing defeat against Parker last December, while Zhang showcased his power by flooring Parker twice in March but ultimately fell short of victory. This showdown serves as a crucial opportunity for both fighters to regain their footing in the heavyweight division.

Ranked as ESPN's No. 6 heavyweight, the 41-year-old Zhang aims to prove himself against the formidable Wilder, who currently holds the No. 7 spot at the age of 38. Despite the significant weight difference, Wilder holds a 1-inch height advantage at 6 feet 7 inches.

Interestingly, Wilder weighed in at 214.6 pounds, coming in slightly heavier than his previous fight against Parker. However, he still remains far lighter than his career heaviest of 238 pounds, which he carried in his trilogy bout with Tyson Fury. This momentous match against Fury was regarded as ESPN's 2021 Fight of the Year and KO of the Year.

As team captain representing Hearn's Matchroom Boxing, Wilder stands to earn double points for a victory. He will receive one point for a decision win and two points for a KO/TKO win, potentially accumulating a total of four points for his team if he can add Zhang to his remarkable list of 42 knockouts.

In addition to the heavyweight bout, the event showcases other exciting matches, including a WBA light heavyweight title defense by Dmitry Bivol. Bivol, ESPN's No. 5 pound-for-pound boxer, weighed in at 175 pounds, while his challenger, Malik Zinad, tipped the scales at 174.2 pounds.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the outcome of this clash between heavyweight titans as Zhang and Wilder step into the ring on Saturday in Riyadh. With both fighters desperate for a victory to maintain their relevance in the glamourous world of professional boxing, the stage is set for a thrilling and decisive showdown.
