Production on the highly anticipated third season of the hit series Euphoria has been delayed, but don't worry, fans, HBO has officially confirmed that the show will go on. Despite rumors circulating on social media, the network remains committed to delivering an exceptional third season of the gritty high school drama.
An HBO spokesperson reassured fans, stating, "HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season of Euphoria." However, in the meantime, the cast members have been given the opportunity to pursue other projects due to their demand in the industry.
Euphoria, featuring rising stars like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, and Austin Abrams, has gained a dedicated following since its debut. While fans eagerly await the return of the show to thrill and captivate them, production on the upcoming season has faced additional delays.
HBO boss Casey Bloys revealed that the show's premiere date for season 3 was impacted by the joint actors' and writers' strikes, which occurred earlier this year. Although the writers' strike concluded on September 27 after 148 days, filming for the new season has yet to begin. The delay is attributed to ongoing work on the scripts.
The extended gap between the second and third seasons has been acknowledged by many of the cast members. Nika King, who plays Zendaya's mother in the show, humorously expressed her anticipation for season 3, joking that she needs it to air soon to cover her bills.
While details about the storyline of the upcoming season have been kept under wraps, creator Sam Levinson has described it as a "film noir." He plans to explore the concept of maintaining individual principles in a corrupt world through Zendaya's character, Rue.
As for the cast, it remains unknown which actors will return for season 3, but it has been confirmed that Barbie Ferreira will not reprise her role as Kat Hernandez. Additionally, the new season will also address the tragic death of Angus Cloud, who portrayed Fezco and passed away due to an accidental overdose last year.
With production still on hold and fans eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated return of Euphoria, it remains to be seen when the third season will premiere. However, HBO's commitment to delivering a remarkable season has reassured fans that it will be worth the wait.
