**Haason Reddick Ends Jets Holdout, Uncertainty Surrounds Accumulated Fines**

Haason Reddick's holdout from the New York Jets has concluded with a newly agreed-upon deal between the team and the player. The specifics of the financial elements in this revised agreement, particularly concerning the penalties Reddick incurred, are still under review.

During his absence, Reddick amassed significant fines, especially for missing preseason games. Each missed game resulted in a fine equivalent to the value of a regular season game check, totaling nearly $792,000 per game. Consequently, Reddick faced $2.38 million in fines from missing three exhibition games. It remains undecided if these fines will be enforced or waived.

Prior to the announcement of Reddick's new deal, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) had already filed a grievance related to these preseason fines. The NFLPA's stance is that Reddick’s situation differs from traditional holdouts since he originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles before being traded to the Jets. They argue this distinction should factor into the consideration of the fines.

Additionally, there are ongoing discussions about the $2 million in fines that Reddick incurred by staying away from training camp. However, these penalties are not immediately up for debate. It has been reported by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that the Jets are open to waiving Reddick's preseason fines if an agreement can be reached between the NFL and NFLPA, which would set a precedent for such circumstances.

Nevertheless, the more severe penalties stem from Reddick missing regular-season games, and how these will be handled in the new agreement is yet to be revealed. The complete details of Reddick's revised deal will offer more insight into his potential earnings for the 2024 season. Importantly, the two-time Pro Bowler remains on course for free agency regardless of the resolution of his fines with the Jets.
