Recounting the moments leading up to the tornado, she mentioned that she had just returned home from work with the intention of relaxing when a friend alerted her to the approaching storm. Fearing for her safety, Haley sought refuge in her basement, bringing along her pets.

As the tornado struck, the intense noise and sudden fear caused Haley's dog to panic and run upstairs. Opening the door, Haley was confronted with the terrifying sight of her entire house engulfed by black and green. Her kitchen, living room, and garage were utterly destroyed, and the neighborhood laid flattened before her eyes.

After the tornado subsided, Haley ventured out to find her community in tatters. Despite her own losses, she came across a neighbor who had sustained injuries from shattered glass. Swiftly utilizing her first aid kit, Haley tended to his wounds until help arrived to transport him to the hospital.
