Former PGA Tour winner, Anthony Kim, is gearing up for a comeback after a 12-year hiatus from professional play. The 38-year-old golfer underwent surgery on his left Achilles tendon after the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship and is now reportedly set to return next week at LIV Golf Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
According to NBC Sports, Kim has been in discussions with officials from both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf as he eyes a return to the pro circuit. If Kim does make his comeback, he would forfeit a $10 million insurance policy from his previous playing days.
The LIV Golf format for 2024 events includes two wild-card players, one of whom will be Anthony Kim based on reports. Each event features 13 teams of four players each along with two wild cards, who will have the opportunity to earn points as individuals and potentially secure a place on a LIV Golf team.
The LIV Golf Jeddah tournament is scheduled to take place from March 1-3 at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Saudi Arabia. Golf Channel/NBC initially reported on Kim's expected return. Field Level Media also contributed to the report as anticipation grows for Kim's highly anticipated return to the world of professional golf.
