GLAAD Report Highlights Lack of LGBTQ Representation in Video Games
ICARO Media Group
GLAAD, the prominent LGBTQ media advocacy group, has recently released its inaugural report concerning the video game industry. The report brings to light that nearly 20 percent of players in the United States identify as LGBTQ, whereas only 2 percent of games feature characters and plots relevant to this community. Interestingly, about half of these inclusive games might be found in Baldur's Gate 3.
The report underscores the significance of representation for LGBTQ players and emphasizes that younger generations of gamers are increasingly welcoming of queer content, regardless of sexual orientation. GLAAD's findings shed light on the disparities in LGBTQ representation in the video game industry and suggest a growing demand for more inclusive content.
