Former Spice Girls member Geri Halliwell is said to be attending the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix as a show of support to her husband, Christian Horner, amidst the recent controversy surrounding sexually suggestive text messages he allegedly sent to a female staffer. Although her presence in Bahrain has not been confirmed through photographs, representatives for Halliwell did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Page Six.
Last month, Horner, who serves as the boss of Red Bull's F1 team, faced accusations of "coercive behavior" towards a female colleague. Red Bull's parent company initiated an investigation, reportedly conducted by an independent party, which subsequently cleared Horner, 50, of any wrongdoing. However, shortly after the probe concluded, hundreds of WhatsApp messages and photos allegedly exchanged between Horner and the female staffer were sent to high-level F1 executives, including F1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
Despite denying the allegations and expressing respect for the integrity of the independent investigation through a Red Bull team spokesperson, Horner found himself facing additional scrutiny as more text messages were leaked to F1 bosses and multiple media outlets. Among the leaked messages, one allegedly involved Horner discussing engaging in a solo sexual act in an aircraft bathroom during a flight to Dubai. Another message reportedly showed the female staffer expressing anger towards the Red Bull Racing CEO, even questioning how he would feel if Halliwell were in her position.
While Halliwell's representatives have not commented on the matter, sources close to the singer have conveyed her feelings of extreme humiliation. According to reports, Halliwell was initially left in tears when news of the scandal broke. Halliwell and Horner tied the knot in 2015 and share a 6-year-old son named Monty, in addition to their children from previous relationships.
As the controversy continues to unfold, all eyes will be on Geri Halliwell's attendance at the Bahrain Grand Prix, where her presence is seen as a public display of support for Christian Horner amidst the ongoing allegations.
