**"College GameDay" Heads to Athens for Georgia vs. Tennessee Showdown**

ESPN's "College GameDay" will set up its stage at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia, for Week 12 of the 2024 college football season. The crew, including Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, and Nick Saban, will feature the highly anticipated matchup between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Tennessee Volunteers.

This will be the team’s seventh visit to an SEC venue this season and the 10th time the show has come to Athens. The prime-time game between Tennessee and Georgia kicks off at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ABC.

Currently, Tennessee holds an impressive 8-1 record and is ranked No. 4 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and No. 7 in the College Football Playoff selection committee’s rankings, following their resounding 33-14 victory over Mississippi State. In contrast, Georgia stands at 7-2 and is ranked No. 10 in the Coaches Poll but has slid to No. 12 in the committee’s standings after a disappointing 28-10 loss to Ole Miss.

For Nick Saban, this appearance marks his return to Sanford Stadium since Alabama’s memorable 38-10 triumph over the Bulldogs on Oct. 3, 2015, a game highlighted by Derrick Henry’s 148-yard performance and several defensive and special teams' scores by Alabama.

As for Alabama, they face the Mercer Bears with a 7-2 record and are ranked No. 9 in the polls and No. 10 by the playoff committee, after defeating LSU 42-13. Mercer, with an impressive 9-1 record, stands atop the Southern Conference and is ranked No. 9 in the AFCA NCAA Football Championship Subdivision rankings. The Alabama-Mercer game will kick off at 1 p.m. on the SEC Network+.
