In a heartfelt announcement on social media, the producers of Prime Video's Gen V series have confirmed that the role of Andre Anderson, portrayed by Chance Perdomo, will not be recast for Season 2. The decision comes as the production team at Gen V strives to honor Perdomo's memory and pay respect to the late actor's legacy.

The statement, shared on Instagram, expressed the determination of everyone at Gen V to find the best way to navigate the "tragic loss" of Chance Perdomo. The producers emphasized that no one can replace Perdomo and, as a result, they have chosen not to recast the role. Instead, they will be taking the necessary time and space to reshape the Season 2 storylines, ensuring an appropriate tribute to Perdomo's memory.

The untimely death of Chance Perdomo occurred on March 30 due to a motorcycle accident. The Gen V cast and producers had been scheduled to gather for their first table read of Season 2 on April 8, with filming set to commence in Toronto. However, in light of Perdomo's passing, production for the series was understandably delayed.

In Gen V, Chance Perdomo portrayed the character of Andre Anderson, a popular student endowed with magnetic manipulation capabilities. The Boys spinoff also features a talented ensemble cast including Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Asa Germann, and Shelley Conn.

Upon learning of Chance Perdomo's death, the Gen V cast released a joint statement to express their grief and pay tribute to their late colleague. They recalled the special moments they shared, the infectious smile that could brighten any room, the warm hugs, and the authenticity that Perdomo carried with him always. They bid a heartfelt farewell, acknowledging that Perdomo's presence will be deeply missed.

As Gen V prepares to commence production in May, the team remains committed to honoring Chance Perdomo's legacy throughout Season 2. The decision to refrain from recasting the role of Andre Anderson stands as a testament to the profound impact that Perdomo had within the cast and crew. While the loss of such a talented actor is undeniably tragic, Gen V serves as a platform to showcase his remarkable abilities and keep his memory alive.
