The final season, consisting of 12 action-packed episodes, is set to premiere on September 23, 2024, with the highly-anticipated series finale scheduled for early 2025.

Lead actor Rob Lowe had previously alluded to the show's conclusion in an interview back in August, expressing his belief that Season 5 would be the last. Now, with Fox's confirmation, the cast and crew have approached the final season with a sense of purpose. "We all went into it pretty much knowing that it was going to be the last season, so that affected everything we did," Lowe explained in his interview with Variety. He further added, "We wanted to really show everybody what is still possible in network television if people have the appetite to do it."
