In an exciting development for James Bond fans, former 007 actor George Lazenby has thrown his support behind British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the potential next Bond. Lazenby, who portrayed the famed spy in the 1969 film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," believes that Taylor-Johnson has what it takes to handle the stunts and capture the hearts of Bond's female admirers.

At 84 years old, Lazenby reportedly expressed his confidence in Taylor-Johnson's ability to do justice to the character in an interview with TMZ. Although Taylor-Johnson has not yet been formally offered the role, Lazenby would be happy to support him if he can bring the necessary qualities to the iconic character.

Recent rumors suggest that Taylor-Johnson, age 33, has been offered the role of the international secret agent, following in the footsteps of Daniel Craig, who portrayed Bond for 15 years. According to the Sun, Taylor-Johnson is expected to sign the contract in the coming days, with Eon Productions, the British company associated with all Bond films, preparing for a big announcement.

Having undergone a screen test for the Bond franchise in 2022, Taylor-Johnson commented on the flattering speculation, stating that he finds it charming and takes it as a great compliment. Insiders have praised Taylor-Johnson's talent and noted that his role in "Nocturnal Animals" showcased his depth as an actor.

If Taylor-Johnson accepts the role, he will join an illustrious group of actors who have portrayed the debonair MI6 agent. The Bond franchise, created by Ian Fleming, found its first Bond in Sean Connery in 1962's "Dr. No," with Connery passing the baton to Lazenby for "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" before returning for "Diamonds Are Forever." Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig have also carried on the iconic role.

The news of Taylor-Johnson's potential casting comes as Eon Productions plans to start shooting the next Bond film later this year. Fans eagerly await the official announcement and look forward to seeing Taylor-Johnson don the tuxedo, introducing a new chapter in the beloved spy franchise.
