In anticipation of the upcoming solar eclipse, food and beverage chains across the U.S. are jumping on the bandwagon to offer discounts and specials to customers. The eclipse, expected to bring in significant business, especially in areas within the path of totality, has prompted restaurants to create themed flavors and giveaways to celebrate the astronomical event.

According to the Perryman Group, a Texas-based economic consultancy, the economic impact of the eclipse in the U.S. could reach an estimated $6 billion. Restaurants are certainly hoping to capitalize on this opportunity, catering to customers looking to partake in the festivities while saving a few bucks.

One chain getting in on the eclipse action is 7-Eleven, which is offering subscribers of their delivery service, 7NOW Gold Pass, the chance to order a whole pizza for just $3 on Monday. As an added bonus, customers can also claim a free pair of eclipse glasses, available while supplies last.

The cotton candy and dragon fruit-flavored beverage, topped with white soft serve and blue and purple sprinkles, symbolizes the "temporary darkness from the solar eclipse." The drink will be available until May 5.

Smoothie chain locations within the path of totality in Arkansas, Indiana, New York, and Ohio are selling a special "Eclipse Berry Blitz Smoothie" through Monday, which includes complimentary eclipse glasses with each purchase.
