**Florida Woman Convicted of Second-Degree Murder in Boyfriend’s Suitcase Death**

A Florida woman has been convicted of second-degree murder after authorities determined she zipped her boyfriend into a suitcase, leading to his death in 2020. Sarah Boone, now 47, claimed that the tragic incident occurred during an innocent game of hide-and-seek in their Winter Park apartment.

According to court records, Boone and her boyfriend, Jorge Torres Jr., 42, had been drinking chardonnay and completing puzzles before deciding to include a suitcase in their game. Boone alleged that after zipping Torres into the suitcase, she believed he would be able to free himself and join her upstairs in bed. Instead, she woke up to find him still inside the suitcase and not breathing.

Shocking evidence presented during the trial included videos found on Boone's phone. The footage captured Torres desperately pleading for his release while Boone laughed and dismissed his cries for help. In the videos, Torres could be heard telling Boone he couldn't breathe, to which she callously responded with remarks like, "That's what you get," and "That's what I feel like when you cheat on me."

Throughout the trial, Boone's defense claimed she was suffering from "Battered Spouse Syndrome" and acted out of fear for her life. Boone testified for nearly five hours, insisting that she believed Torres could escape the suitcase on his own. Her attorney expressed disappointment with the guilty verdict.

The family of the victim, Jorge Torres Jr., was visibly emotional following the verdict but declined to comment further. Boone is scheduled to be sentenced on December 2 at 1:30 p.m.
