In an impressive display of power and resilience, the Florida State Seminoles baseball team left no doubt about their dominance as they defeated the UConn Huskies in a Super Regional matchup. Breaking records along the way, the Seminoles secured a 24-4 victory, the largest margin of victory in Super Regional history.

The game was highlighted by milestone hits from James Tibbs and Smith in the sixth inning. Smith connected on his 100th hit of the season, while Tibbs followed suit with the 200th hit of his career. These moments further solidified the Seminoles' offensive prowess, as they went on to score six runs in the sixth inning and matched a season high with nine runs in the seventh inning.

Carson Doresy, with his stellar performance on the mound, improved his record to 7-4. Showcasing his pitching skills, Doresy delivered 5.1 innings of one-run baseball. This achievement came after his impressive outing in the NCAA Tournament, where he allowed just two earned runs in a span of 14.0 innings.

The scoring spree began early for Florida State, with Dinges hitting a 384-foot home run in the first inning, followed by M. Williams' 365-foot long ball in the second inning. The Seminoles' offensive onslaught continued throughout the game, with contributions from Lodise, Ferrer, Cantu, and West.

The Super Regional victory was not just about the runs scored, as Florida State made history by setting several NCAA records. Their 24 runs in a single game marked the highest run total since their 24-4 win over Niagara back in 2020. Additionally, the Seminoles' 20-run margin of victory in a Super Regional game is a new NCAA record.

Remarkably, this Super Regional win also showcased the Seminoles' incredible improvement from the previous season. With a total of 23 more wins, Florida State's year-over-year jump is the largest in program history. The team's total of 117 home runs this season further solidifies their dominance, a staggering increase of 58 compared to last year and the third-highest tally in program history.

The Seminoles have now hit a home run in 14 consecutive games and in 56 out of their 61 games this season, showcasing their remarkable consistency and power at the plate.

With this commanding victory, Florida State is now just one step away from the College World Series. They have firmly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with and will undoubtedly carry this momentum into the next round of the NCAA Tournament.

Overall, this Super Regional victory was a testament to the Florida State Seminoles' offensive firepower, pitching prowess, and their relentless pursuit of success. Only time will tell if they will continue their remarkable run and add another championship to their storied program.
