### Florida Assesses Damage in the Wake of Hurricane Milton, While NHC Monitors New System

In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton's devastating impact on Florida, the state is starting the recovery process. As residents deal with flooding and damages, meteorologists report a period of relative calm in tropical activity.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami has ceased advisories on Tropical Storm Leslie remnants as of October 12. However, meteorologists are keeping a close eye on a new tropical disturbance, designated AL94, located near the Cabo Verde Islands. This system has a low probability of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next week, as of Sunday, October 13.

Meanwhile, Florida is anticipating a change in weather patterns as an early season cold front sweeps through the Gulf of Mexico. Temperatures are expected to drop, plunging into the low 60s and even 50s in certain areas such as Jacksonville and Tallahassee. There is also a forecast for heavy rainfall in southeast Florida today, which could potentially lead to localized flash flooding.

The situation remains precarious for many Floridians who are still coping with the floods from Hurricane Milton and the long-term impacts of last month's Hurricane Helene. As people clear debris and wait for water levels to recede, the NHC continues to provide weather updates and forecasts.

Regarding new developments in the Atlantic, the NHC reports that AL94 is currently in an unfavorable environment but could encounter more conducive conditions for strengthening later in the week. This system might evolve into a tropical depression as it moves west-northwest toward the Leeward Islands.

The current radar updates from the National Weather Service provide real-time insights for various parts of Florida, including North Florida, the Space Coast, and South Florida. Embedded radars show the latest weather conditions for areas like Jacksonville, Miami, and Orlando.

As Florida braces for colder temperatures and continued recovery efforts, meteorologists remain vigilant, monitoring ongoing weather developments closely. The community's resilience and preparedness will be crucial in the days ahead as the state navigates through this challenging hurricane season.
