The warning, announced by the National Weather Service shortly before 2:30 a.m., mentioned the possibility of flash flooding and landslides, lasting until 9 a.m. The affected areas range from Downtown Los Angeles to Palos Verdes and Long Beach in Los Angeles County. KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo advised residents to exercise caution and give themselves extra time to navigate the potentially hazardous conditions.

The storm is the last of a series that began on Sunday, bringing heavy rain and dangerous mudslides to the Southland. Notably, local leaders in Rancho Palos Verdes have requested Governor Gavin Newsom to declare a statewide emergency due to concerns regarding shifting land in their community. While residual showers are expected during the day, the majority of the heavy rainfall is anticipated in the morning hours.

Looking ahead, a promising rebound is expected for the weekend with warmer temperatures and clear skies. However, another smaller storm is already in the forecast for early next week, so residents are advised to stay prepared for potential future weather disturbances.
