The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning regarding the presence of harmful chemicals in Diamond Shruumz edibles, leading to a widespread outbreak of illnesses across multiple states. As of the latest update, 113 people in 28 states have fallen ill after consuming these products, with 42 hospitalizations and two fatalities reported.

Patients who have consumed Diamond Shruumz edibles have reported a range of distressing symptoms, including respiratory failure, seizures, confusion, sleepiness, abnormal heart rates, and nausea. This alarming situation prompted the FDA to investigate the products further.

Initially, Prophet Premium Blends LLC, the company behind Diamond Shruumz, had resisted the idea of a recall. However, following mounting evidence, the company has voluntarily recalled all their chocolate bars, gummies, and cones under the Diamond Shruumz brand.

According to the FDA, their testing has revealed that some of the samples contained muscimol, a powerful psychoactive compound. However, it is important to note that not all the products tested positive for this substance, and muscimol alone cannot explain all the reported symptoms.

Furthermore, the FDA's analysis of Diamond Shruumz chocolate bars has uncovered the presence of various chemical compounds. A table provided shows that different flavors of chocolate bars may contain different compounds, with variations even within the same flavor. While the individual effects of these compounds are known, their interactions when consumed together require further research.

The FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are now closely studying these test results to assess the health risks associated with ingesting these chemical substances. Ongoing testing is being conducted, and the FDA plans to update the product table with the results for cones and gummies as they become available.

In light of the recall, it has come to the FDA's attention that some smoke/vape shops and retailers selling hemp-derived products, such as cannabidiol (CBD) or delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-8 THC), still have Diamond Shruumz products on their shelves. The FDA is actively monitoring the recall's effectiveness and is working with the National Association of Convenience Stores and the National Smoke Shop Association to raise awareness about the recall.

To ensure public safety, the FDA strongly advises consumers not to purchase or consume any Diamond Shruumz-brand products. Individuals who possess these recalled products are urged to check their homes and dispose of them immediately. If anyone experiences any adverse reactions after consuming any of the recalled items, especially if they have trouble breathing, medical attention should be sought without delay.

The FDA remains dedicated to ensuring the well-being of consumers and is urging the public to report any stores that continue to sell the recalled Diamond Shruumz products. It is crucial to take swift action and prevent further harm caused by these potentially dangerous edible products.
