In a tragic incident at the Honolulu cruise terminal in Hawaii on Friday, one person was killed and several others injured when a shuttle bus crashed into them, as reported by police and Carnival Cruise Line. Witnesses described the horrifying moment when the bus plowed into the crowd, only stopping after hitting a nearby wall.

According to police reports, the bus collided with concrete barriers and struck a total of 11 individuals. Five of the injured victims were immediately rushed to hospitals for treatment, with one woman tragically succumbing to her injuries. The remaining four are said to be in good condition. Six other individuals involved in the accident declined medical assistance.

Carnival Cruise Line confirmed that among the affected individuals were nine guests from their Carnival Miracle ship. Tragically, the deceased woman was traveling with her husband, who also suffered injuries but is expected to make a full recovery, as stated by the cruise line.

As investigations into the incident continue, authorities have stated that speed does not appear to be a contributing factor. However, they have not ruled out the involvement of drugs or alcohol in the collision, as further examinations are yet to be conducted by the Honolulu Police Department.

Efforts have been made to reach out to the shuttle bus company for their response on the accident, but no comment has been received at this time.

It is worth noting that the Carnival Miracle is currently midway through a 15-day sailing journey that began in Long Beach, California.

This tragic incident at the Honolulu cruise terminal serves as a stark reminder of the risks and potential dangers that can arise even in seemingly routine transportation situations. As authorities continue their investigations, our thoughts are with the victims and their families, as well as with the passengers and crew aboard the Carnival Miracle during this distressing time.
