The Atlanta Falcons have made a series of transactions after returning from their joint practices and preseason game with the Miami Dolphins. These moves include placing outside linebacker Bralen Trice and cornerback Harrison Hand on the reserve/injured list, releasing quarterback Nathan Rourke, and signing wide receiver Jakeem Grant, running back Spencer Brown, and quarterback John Paddock.

Trice, a third-round draft pick, unfortunately suffered a knee injury during the Falcons' first preseason game. He had been impressing coaches with his performance in training camp and was listed as the team's backup outside linebacker. Trice's injury will require him to miss the entire 2024 season.

Hand, a fifth-round draft pick in 2020, also encountered a knee injury during practice last week. Although he was able to walk off the field, he did not participate in the game. Hand had been listed as the Falcons' third cornerback on the depth chart.

The release of quarterback Nathan Rourke comes after his brief stint with the team. Prior to joining the Falcons, Rourke had no experience in live NFL action. In Friday's preseason game, he completed three of his 13 pass attempts for 37 yards and showcased his running ability with two scrambles for a total of 24 yards.

To fill the vacancies left by Trice and Hand, the Falcons signed Jakeem Grant, a veteran wide receiver with six years of NFL experience. Grant, who has battled injuries recently, brings versatility to both offense and special teams. Throughout his career, he has accumulated 100 receptions for 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns, while also excelling in punt and kickoff returns.

The Falcons also added Spencer Brown, a running back who previously played for the Carolina Panthers. Brown has appeared in six games, carrying the ball nine times for 43 yards during his time with the Panthers.

These roster moves come after the Falcons placed wide receiver Rondale Moore on the reserve/injured list last week. Moore was expected to contribute on offense and special teams.

The Falcons continue to fine-tune their roster ahead of the 2024 season. The preseason provides an opportunity for players to showcase their skills and compete for coveted spots on the final roster. With these recent transactions, the Falcons aim to strengthen their team as they prepare for the upcoming season.
