Among the marquee games previewed were Texas versus Texas A&M, Notre Dame versus USC, and Clemson against South Carolina. While Davis largely sided with the betting favorites, he made an unexpected call by picking No. 5 Notre Dame to lose against USC.

Entering the weekend as a 7.5-point favorite according to ESPN BET, most fans and analysts favor the Fighting Irish in the historic showdown. However, Davis voiced confidence in USC's ability to pull off an upset, largely due to their knack for close games and the advantage of playing at home. "I'm going to go with the upset," Davis stated. "I've talked about it way too much, so it's probably going to be like, why did I do that? All five of USC's losses this year are by one possession. They've lost by a total of 19 points and they've had the lead in the fourth quarter of every one."

USC has experienced a string of hard-fought losses throughout the 2024 season, losing narrowly to Michigan (27-24), Maryland (29-28), and Penn State (33-30). Despite these setbacks, the Trojans have rallied with back-to-back victories over Nebraska and UCLA heading into Week 14.

A significant factor in USC's recent success has been the performance of transfer quarterback Jayden Maiava, who stepped up after head coach Lincoln Riley decided to bench Miller Moss. With these changes and their recent momentum, Davis believes the Trojans have what it takes to topple Notre Dame in this crucial clash.
