**H-E-B Introduces Tap-to-Pay Services in San Antonio, Expanding Statewide**
H-E-B is rolling out digital tap-to-pay options at stores in Texas, beginning with the San Antonio area. Starting Monday, the service will be gradually introduced at all San Antonio stores within a week.
Following this initial phase, the feature will be extended to other H-E-B stores throughout Texas, including Mi Tienda locations in Houston. Customers will be able to make purchases by tapping their physical cards or using digital wallets like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay at various points, such as cash registers, self-checkout lanes, H-E-B brand restaurants, and pharmacies.
While initially not available at H-E-B fuel pumps, the service can be used at the fuel station payment windows. Ashwin Nathan, H-E-B Group Vice President of Marketing and Payments, emphasized the company's commitment to embracing technology to improve the shopping experience. "This has been one of the most requested services we have received from our customers and Partners, and we are excited to now make this popular technology available at all our H-E-B locations," Nathan stated.
Previously, tap-to-pay services were introduced at Central Market and Joe V's Smart Shop stores across the state earlier in the summer.
