**Massive Security Operation for Paris Olympics 2024 in Light of Recent Tensions**

The Paris Olympics 2024 will be under an exceptional security operation, with thousands of police officers being deployed to ensure the safety and smooth running of the event. The decision comes a week after violent incidents in Amsterdam, where fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv were attacked.

Paris police chief Laurent Nuñez has announced the deployment of 4,000 officers, with 2,500 stationed at the Stade de France in the northern Paris suburbs and the remaining officers monitoring public transport and other areas within the capital. Additionally, 1,600 private security guards will be present at the stadium, and an elite anti-terrorist police unit will be responsible for protecting visiting delegations.

"It is a high-risk event given the extremely tense geopolitical context," Nuñez highlighted. The stringent security measures have been deemed necessary following the disturbances during a recent UEFA Nations League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Netherlands.

The Stade de France, which has a capacity of 80,000, will see limited attendance due to security concerns. Recent recommendations from authorities have led to expectations of fewer than 100 Israeli fans traveling to the event in Paris. Nonetheless, other supporters are likely to be present. The recent violence in Amsterdam had seen Israeli fans chased through the streets, amid accusations of vandalism and anti-Arab slogans, which escalated tensions in the area.

European leaders expressed concern over the increasing incidents of antisemitism. In a display of solidarity, French President Emmanuel Macron announced his attendance at the event. Macron will be joined by Prime Minister Michel Barnier and former presidents François Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy. Security measures will include comprehensive identity checks for attendees, while local bars and restaurants have been instructed to close from the afternoon on the day of the event.

The Stade de France has previously experienced security breaches, most notably during the UEFA Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid in 2022. However, the venue has successfully hosted the Rugby World Cup and will host the upcoming Paris Olympics, bolstered by these reinforced security measures.

Contrary to some calls for the event's cancellation, French authorities have insisted on proceeding as planned. Far-left political party La France Insoumise (LFI), which supports Palestinian and Lebanese positions in the Middle East conflict, urged President Macron to boycott the event. "We do not want our head of state honoring a country that commits genocide," said LFI deputy David Guiraud, though these claims have been strongly denied by Israel.

Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau firmly rejected any notion of canceling or relocating the event, stating, "France does not give way to those who sow hatred."

The Paris Olympics 2024 will continue as scheduled, with the French administration standing firm on its commitment to maintain order and provide an atmosphere of respect and competition. As France and Israel compete in the same group for the event, previous encounters, such as France's 4-1 victory over Israel in Budapest, will add to the anticipation and importance of the match while underscoring the need for heightened vigilance.
