Eminem's long-awaited return to the music scene is gaining momentum as his latest single, "Houdini," debuts at an impressive No. 2 on the charts. This marks his highest-charting single since the 2013 hit "The Monster," featuring Rihanna, which secured the top spot for several weeks.

The release of "Houdini" is a precursor to Eminem's forthcoming 12th album, "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)." Although the album lacks an official release date, fans can expect it sometime this summer. The single's success indicates a promising reception for the highly anticipated record.

Eminem surprised fans with a four-song performance at the "Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central," an event celebrating his hometown. The energetic performance included appearances from Diana Ross, Big Sean, Jack White, and other notable artists. Eminem also dropped the official music video for "Houdini," which pays homage to his 2002 hit, "Without Me," further generating excitement for the upcoming album.

The "Houdini" music video features guest appearances from prominent figures such as 50 Cent, Pete Davidson, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Alchemist. It takes viewers on a time-traveling journey, hinting at the album's nostalgic themes and adding to its appeal.

Unfortunately, "Houdini" was unable to claim the top spot in its debut week due to the popularity of Post Malone and Morgan Wallen's country hit, "I Had Some Help." The latter, already the second No. 1 country hit this year after Beyoncé's "Texas Hold 'Em," maintained its position at the top for a fourth consecutive week. Its significant radio reach, with over 59.3 million airplay impressions and 45.6 million official streams, contributed to its continued success.

Nonetheless, "Houdini" made a strong impact with nearly 49 million streams and 4 million radio impressions in its opening week. The single quickly climbed to the No. 8 spot on Spotify's U.S. Top 50 chart and sits at No. 4 on the streaming service's Top 50 global songs chart. Eminem's reach extends overseas as well, with "Houdini" debuting at No. 1 on the U.K. songs chart, further solidifying his global appeal.

In other chart news, there were no new entries in the Top 10 of the singles chart apart from Eminem's "Houdini." The remaining titles in the chart mostly consist of songs that have been dominating in previous weeks. Shaboozey's latest album, "Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going," made an impressive debut at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Meanwhile, ATEEZ secured their fifth top-10 effort with "Golden Hour: Part.1" claiming the No. 2 spot. Taylor Swift continues her reign at the top of the chart for an impressive seventh consecutive week.

As anticipation continues to build for Eminem's forthcoming album, "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)," the success of "Houdini" serves as a testament to the rapper's enduring popularity and ability to captivate audiences worldwide. Fans eagerly await the album's release date and what musical surprises Eminem has in store for them.
