In a dramatic turn of events, the mother of entrepreneur Elon Musk's former partner, Grimes, has come forward to accuse him of withholding their children from their mother and great-grandmother. This allegation comes at a time when a custody battle over some of Musk's 12 children is escalating, with another daughter speaking out against him and accusing him of a "despicable form of abuse."
The ordeal began when the Canadian singer, Grimes, took to Twitter in September 2023 to demand that Musk allow her to see their son. Although the tweet has since been deleted, she called on Musk's partner Shivon Zilis to unblock her and pleaded with Elon to "let me see my son."
This recent criticism marks a pattern of personal attacks on Musk's parenting skills, including those from Wilson, Musk's child from his first marriage with Justine Musk. Wilson publicly confronted her father after he claimed in an interview that he was "tricked" into allowing her to undergo gender-affirming treatment at the age of 16. Musk also made controversial comments about Wilson's identity, referring to her by her birth name, Xavier, and suggesting that her sexual orientation and autism contributed to her gender dysphoria. Wilson, in response, spoke out in an NBC News interview, describing her father as "cold," "quick to anger," and "uncaring and narcissistic."
The relationship between Grimes and Musk came into the public spotlight when they started dating in 2018. They welcomed their first son, X Æ A-Xii, in 2020, whose unique name caused confusion among many. In 2021, they had a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl, and in 2022, they disclosed the birth of their third child, Techno Mechanicus. Musk currently has a total of 12 children from various relationships.
Musk and Grimes typically kept their private life out of the public eye, but they did make an appearance together on SNL in 2021, dressed as Super Mario Bros. characters. However, following their split, Grimes jokingly referred to her relationship with Musk as the "best internship ever" and commented on his controversial social media presence, stating that he is often dissatisfied with "woke people."
Elon Musk's net worth is estimated to be an astounding $233.8 billion, securing his position as the richest person in the world. This position was regained earlier this year primarily due to the rising share prices of Tesla, which have surged by nearly 8 cents per share since late April. Musk's wealth surpasses that of other prominent billionaires, including Jeff Bezos of Amazon ($200.1 billion), Bernard Arnault of LVMH ($183.1 billion), and Larry Ellison of Oracle ($171.6 billion).
As the custody battle for Musk's children intensifies, it remains to be seen how these latest accusations and family disputes will impact the billionaire's public image and personal life.
