Techland is set to release its latest open-world action survival game, Dying Light: The Beast, on August 22. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. An added bonus awaits those who own the "Ultimate Edition" of Dying Light 2: Stay Human, as they will receive the new game at no extra cost.

Dying Light: The Beast invites players into the eerie and treacherous landscape of Castor Woods. Once a bustling tourist hotspot, Castor Woods has become a shadow of its former self due to highly secretive and sinister experiments. Players will step into the shoes of Kyle Crane, a heroic figure known for his selflessness during the initial virus outbreak. After enduring 13 years of captivity and brutal experiments, Crane escapes with revenge on his mind, only to find an even deeper conspiracy at play.

The game promises a meticulously-crafted open world filled with both human survivors and hordes of zombies. Notable features include the ability to traverse diverse terrains using parkour skills and the option to commandeer abandoned 4×4 vehicles to escape nighttime horrors. As day shifts to night, the challenges grow, urging players to either run, hide, or confront the menacing creatures that thrive in the darkness.

Adding to the game's allure is a unique twist: the experiments on Crane have imbued him with a beast-like power, blending zombie DNA with his own. This newfound ability is not merely a curse but a potent tool for survival, providing an edge against both human foes and the undead.

For those who prefer to brave the dangers of Castor Woods with companions, the game offers a four-player cooperative mode. Team up with friends to tackle missions and explore the world or opt for a solitary journey if you're up for the challenge.

With just a few weeks to go until its release, anticipation is building for what could be one of the most thrilling gaming experiences of the year.
