In a thrilling announcement for all Nephalem, Diablo III Season 32 is set to reintroduce Ethereal items, unleashing their rare and potent powers upon Sanctuary once again. Inspired by the rich history of Diablo II, this seasonal theme brings forth 21 iconic weapons, offering players a chance to acquire unimaginable power.
Ethereals are not your ordinary weapons. These ethereal memories from a bygone era manifest in the present, granting those who are persistent enough to search for them incredible abilities. However, their power is fleeting, making them a coveted but temporary source of strength.
Season 32 unveils Ethereals as a special type of weapon that players will have the opportunity to acquire and hunt for throughout their seasonal journey. These weapons will possess a unique set of affixes, along with a random Class Weapon Legendary Power and a random Class Passive Power. With distinctive icons, names, item types, and sounds reminiscent of Diablo II, the nostalgia factor is sure to please veteran players.
It's important to note that Ethereals are account bound and can only be obtained by defeating monsters, opening chests, or destroying objects. They can drop at any level and do not require the character to be Level 70. However, these elusive items cannot be acquired through Kanai's Cube or from Kadala.
The rarity of Ethereals falls between Ancient and Primal items, making them highly sought after by collectors. There are three unique Ethereals per class, each with fixed affixes and the roll of one random Legendary Weapon power and one random Class Passive Skill. Furthermore, players can only equip one Ethereal at a time.
One of the exciting aspects of Ethereals is that they ignore item durability loss, providing a durable option for battles against the forces of evil. However, it's important to note that Legendary Powers and Class Passive Skills obtained through Ethereals do not stack with those acquired through Kanai's Cube, items, or skills.
While Ethereals cannot be Enchanted, Transmogrified, Dyed, Reforged, or traded, players can augment them to enhance their power. Additionally, completing the impressive feat of collecting all 21 Ethereals during the season will reward players with the Feat of Strength, Ethereal Recollection. This achievement unlocks the ability to transmogrify Ethereal items for future seasonal and non-seasonal play.
It's worth mentioning that Ethereals can only be obtained in Seasonal play and will not transfer to non-seasonal characters once the season ends. As in previous seasons, Diablo III brings back previous Seasonal rewards to provide an opportunity for players who may have missed them. Season 32 reintroduces awards from Season 8 into the Season Journey.
However, the developers understand the importance of new challenges for seasoned players. To address this, two new cosmetic rewards have been introduced for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Feast your eyes upon the Teganze Warrior Portrait Frame and Bat pet, adding a fresh element to your collection of accomplishments.
In addition to these enticing rewards, players who have reached the Conqueror tier in previous Seasons have the opportunity to earn an additional stash tab each season, up to a maximum of 5 tabs. By achieving various Conqueror tier challenges such as finishing a level 70 Nephalem Rift, leveling three Legendary Gems to level 55, completing two Conquests, defeating Izual in under 15 seconds, slaying Greed, or reaching Greater Rift Level 60 solo, players can expand their storage capabilities.
As Season 32 approaches, the anticipation for the return of Ethereals and the allure of new rewards continues to grow. With the opportunity to wield these powerful yet fleeting weapons, players will embark on thrilling adventures throughout Sanctuary, in search of unimaginable power, formidable challenges, and the joys of overcoming adversity in true Nephalem fashion.
